LIGHT OF GUIDANCE CENTER
The Light of Guidance Center is the New York City Center of the Sufi Order International. The Sufi Order was founded by Hazrat Inayat Khan, one of the first teachers to bring a message of Sufism to the West in 1910. It is founded on the basis of spiritual liberty, affirming that behind all names and forms and all spiritual and religious traditions, one Living Reality exists and manifests through our lives. Our classes emphasize the cultivation of the heart and the bringing of spirituality into everyday life to realize this Living Reality. All classes and retreats are open to all.

Talk at the New York Open Center by Pir Zia Inayat Khan,
Leader of the Sufi Order International
In this talk and book signing, Pir Zia will introduce two of his books, Saracen Chivalry (Suluk Press, 2012) and Caravan of Souls (Suluk Press, 2013, forthcoming). Saracen Chivalry evokes the legendary history and heroic ideals of futuwwa, or Sufi chivalry. Caravan of Souls describes the precepts and practices of the Sufi Order established in the West by Pir Zia’s grandfather, Hazrat Inayat Khan, in 1910. The object of futuwwa is to live a life of courage and generosity. The object of Sufi mysticism is to discover God “in the horizons and in one’s self.”
